Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst Quality Assurance - Team Lead with deep expertise in building and scaling end-to-end testing frameworks using Playwright. In this role, you will lead our transition toward automation-first testing strategies for complex web applications. You will use JavaScript and TypeScript to design, develop, and maintain clean, reusable, and robust automated test suites.

Key Responsibilities:

Framework Design & Scripting

- Build test frameworks: Design and scale custom end-to-end testing architectures using Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript from scratch.
- Write reliable scripts: Author clean, maintainable test scripts following modern design patterns like Page Object Model (POM).
- Perform API testing:



Automate backend validations alongside UI workflows utilizing Playwright’s built-in request context or libraries like Axios.
- Manage execution: Configure parallel runs, headless browser test execution, and multi-browser strategies (Chromium, WebKit, Firefox).

CI/CD Integration & Flakiness Triage

- Pipeline automation: Integrate automated test suites into Azure DevOps pipelines (or leverage your existing GitHub Actions experience to adapt to our workflow).
- Maintain test health: Investigate, triage, and resolve flaky tests to ensure high pipeline reliability and low build failure rates.
- Report generation: Set up visually robust HTML test reporting metrics or tools like Allure to communicate quality metrics to stakeholders.

Collaboration & QA Leadership

- Refine criteria: Participate in Sprint ceremonies to clarify and establish clear acceptance criteria using Jira.
- Review code: Conduct peer code reviews for automation scripts to ensure testing code quality remains high.
- Exploratory testing: Dedicate a small portion of time (~20%) to manual or exploratory testing on complex workflows and recent features.

What are we looking for:

- Team Leadership: At least 2 years of hands-on experience leading a QA/Software Engineering team, including mentoring team members, assigning work, providing technical guidance, and driving delivery.
- Core Language Expertise:



Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
- Framework Mastery: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience exclusively developing with the Playwright framework.
- QA Background: 5+ years of overall experience in Software Quality Assurance or Software Engineering.
- CI/CD Platforms: Hands-on experience setting up test workflows in Azure DevOps (preferred) or GitHub Actions.
- Version Control: Strong proficiency with Git, branching strategies, and pull request workflows.
- Database Skills: Competence in writing SQL queries to manage test data and perform database validation.

Nice-to-Have Skills

- AI-Augmented QA: Experience using AI code assistants or agentic testing tools to accelerate test script generation.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000 & 10% annual bonus!
