Job#: 3051823 : BUSINESS PROCESS CONSULTANT Duration: 6-Month Contract (Likely Extension) Location: Remote
Overview We are seeking a Business Process Consultant to support digital health transformation and interoperability initiatives. The successful candidate will provide business analysis expertise to improve clinical workflows, support healthcare integrations, and help deliver modern digital health solutions that enhance care coordination and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis activities supporting digital health and interoperability initiatives.
- Engage clinical, operational, technical, and vendor stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business, clinical, and technical requirements.
- Analyze and map current-state and future-state workflows, business processes, data flows, and integration requirements.
- Translate clinical and business requirements into solution specifications aligned with interoperability standards, including HL7, FHIR, APIs, and related standards.
- Support solution design, implementation planning, integration activities, and proof-of-concept initiatives.
- Develop and maintain requirements documentation, workflow diagrams, process maps, user stories, use cases, and data mappings.
- Provide expertise related to clinical workflows, healthcare interoperability, and secure information exchange.
- Support governance, privacy, security, operational readiness, change management, and adoption planning activities.
- Collaborate with project, architecture, product, and delivery teams to modernize healthcare workflows and improve service delivery.
- Support executive decision-making through analysis, documentation, and recommendations.
Qualifications Required
- Minimum five (5) years of experience providing business analysis and process consulting services within large, complex healthcare or digital health environments.
- Experience leading business analysis and business process improvement initiatives.
- Strong experience eliciting, documenting, validating, and managing business, clinical, functional, and technical requirements.
- Experience facilitating workshops and engaging clinical, operational, technical, executive, and vendor stakeholders.
- Knowledge of healthcare workflows, referrals, orders, clinical documentation, and care coordination.
- Experience mapping business processes, workflows, data flows, and integration requirements.
- Working knowledge of HL7, FHIR, APIs, interoperability standards, and health information exchange concepts.
- Experience supporting digital health solutions integrated with EMRs, Clinical Information Systems (CIS), and related healthcare applications.
- Experience developing business requirements, functional specifications, workflow diagrams, process maps, user stories, use cases, and data mappings.
- Knowledge of privacy, security, information governance, and operational readiness practices.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within Agile, hybrid, or waterfall project environments.
Preferred
- Experience supporting large-scale healthcare transformation initiatives.
- Experience with digital referrals, orders, clinical messaging, interoperability, or health information exchange projects.
- Experience with OceanMD, Cerner, Meditech, Accuro, Oscar Pro, Med Access, MOIS, or similar healthcare platforms.
- Experience supporting privacy impact assessments (PIA), security assessments (STRA), and change management initiatives.
- CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, Lean, or related certifications.
