This position is intended to provide short-term support and is not expected to continue beyond the end date. JOB SUMMARY:

This position is customer service focused with administrative functions. Work will be reviewed by the supervisor for completeness, accuracy and results.

This position reports directly to the Supervisor of Finance and Administration of Codiac Transpo.

EDUCATION

- High school graduation or equivalency,
- Must have a post-secondary education from an accredited institution where office skills were acquired and assessed.
- Accounting or bookkeeping courses or related experience is an asset.

EXPERIENCE

- Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience in performing similar or related duties.

LANGUAGE

- Must be functional in both official languages (English and French). As per provincial language proficiency standards, functional is determined to be at the Intermediate+ (2+) level or higher.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Computer knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and macros, Microsoft Word,



Windows applications, and email are significant and necessary skills. Experience with ADP Payroll and Oracle Purchasing would be considered valuable assets.

OTHER

- Requires excellent telephone communications skills involving courteous and tactful handling of customer service information, complaints, and comments.
- Requires a calm and professional manner when operating the radio communication system.
- Must be willing to upgrade skills as required by changes in the workplace.
- Errors due to inaccuracy, neglect, or carelessness would result in customer inconvenience financial loss or delay in terms of time, service or expense.
- Requires good judgment appropriate to applying established policies and procedures to work assignments and resolving frequent minor problems.

CONTACT

- Requires courtesy, tact and diplomacy when exchanging information with members of the public, as well as internal and external clients.
- The incumbent will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a professional and courteous working relationship with the service agencies and departments of Codiac Transit’s partners and clients.

SUPERVISION

- Although supervised, the incumbent would be required to work independently from time to time.

CONDITIONS OF WORK

- This position is covered under the City Hall Employees Association CHEA / PSAC Local 60200 Collective Agreement. This position is based on a thirty-five (35) hour workweek; however, overtime maybe be required occasionally.
