Gas Station Store Person — Duties & Responsibilities

- Provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service at all times.

- Operate the cash register and POS system accurately, including cash, debit, and credit transactions.

- Must have past experience at the Gas Stations.

- Assist customers with fuel purchases, in-store products, lottery, and other services offered at the station.

- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment.

- Restock shelves, refrigerators, and other product displays as needed.

- Monitor inventory levels and report low-stock or out-of-stock items to management.

- Receive and organize merchandise deliveries.

- Check product expiry dates and maintain proper product rotation.

- Follow all company policies and gas-station safety procedures.

- Maintain cleanliness of the sales floor, counters, coolers, washrooms, and surrounding areas.

- Handle cash responsibly and follow proper cash-handling and reconciliation procedures.

- Monitor the store and fuel-area environment and report any safety, maintenance, or security concerns.

- Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning, stocking, and securing the store.

- Resolve customer questions and concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.

- Help create a positive customer experience that encourages repeat business.

- Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining accuracy and excellent customer service.

- Perform other store-related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience

- Previous gas station, convenience store, retail, or fuel-station experience is required.

- Must be energetic, active, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong customer-service and communication skills.

- Cash-handling and POS experience preferred.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Must be reliable, punctual, and willing to perform physical duties such as standing for extended periods, stocking, and cleaning.

- Versatile availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is an asset.

Pay: $17.60-$18.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate

- Lakefield, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience

- Retail sales: 2 years (preferred)
