Please Note: This position is not with the County of Lambton. It is with our Community Partner, the Township of St. Clair. Application instructions are included in the posting.

The Township of St. Clair is seeking four (4) motivated individuals for Casual Operator, Community Services positions within the Community Services Department.

Working under the direction of the Coordinator of Parks & Recreation, this position is responsible for day-to-day operation as well as general maintenance and repair of municipal facilities.

Responsibilities will include the general and preventative maintenance of Township pools, parks, ice surfaces, and operations equipment. The successful incumbents will operate ice resurfacing equipment, inspect and manage logs of the refrigeration plant, along with miscellaneous housekeeping / janitorial duties. Janitorial services will require the cleaning of dressing rooms, lobbies, halls, stairwells, rinks, parking lots, offices, concession booths, windows, and all other facility areas as operationally required.

Education and Qualifications:

Qualifications will include a Grade 12 diploma and a valid Class G Ontario driver’s license. Preference will go to those who possess a 4th Class Operating Engineer Certificate or a Class B Refrigeration Operator Certificate. ORFA Certified Ice Technician status, Propane Handling Certificate, and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) designation, is preferred and considered an asset.

Ideally, the successful candidates will also hold knowledge of HVAC systems and have a valid and non-expired First Aid & CPR certificate.

These positions are vacancies within the Township of St.



Clair.

Compensation will be in accordance with OPSEU Local 123 Collective Agreement. The rate of pay will range from $26.02 – $30.91 per hour and the successful candidates will assume a diverse schedule mainly for coverage purposes and on an as needed basis. Successful candidates must be available to work morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts as operationally necessary. Only those candidates selected for interview will be contacted.
