Job Summary

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated CHESS (Level 1 & 2) Instructors to inspire children through engaging and educational chess instruction. In this role, you will introduce young learners to the fundamentals of chess, foster critical thinking, and promote strategic problem-solving skills in a fun and supportive environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to cultivate a love for chess while developing essential teaching and leadership abilities.

- Main Responsibilities:

· Teach CHESS to Children in ages (7-12) in Surrey and South Surrey Areas · Teach different drills / practices to kids each week

· Friendly and respect school's staff / parents / students

· Strictly follow school's protocols and instructions

· Arrive on time (15 minutes before each session)

· Maintain daily attendance records

Qualifications and Requirements:

· Must be at least 19 years of age

· A proven related knowledge of CHESS LEVEL 1 & 2 with at least 1 year teaching experience.

· Knowledge of working with children,



social and emotional learning, physical literacy, group management, behavior management, and counseling

· Experience in planning and leading activities for groups of children in a recreational setting

· Current criminal record check (or willing to consent)

- Hours of Work and Payment :

This is a part time contract position working weekday afternoon shifts (must be available between 2:30 to 3:30 pm or 2:45-3:45 pm). - The net monthly payment will be based on the number of sessions attended, calculated at a fixed hourly rate per one-hour session as mentioned above that includes 15 min check-in/set-up and 15 min check-out/clean-up time for each session.

- This position is only open to those legally entitled to work in Canada.

Pay: $50.00 per hour

- Surrey, BC: reliably commute or be willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (preferred)
