Chief Mine Development Officer

This position offers an exciting opportunity to be manage the early stage planning and execution of studies required to support a prefeasibility/feasibility study, including certain pre-construction activities at a large past-producing gold project in Guyana.

This role involves working closely with Toronto-based Senior Management and various consultants to drive forward the planning and advancement of the on-site engineering and related studies and identifying and managing consultants and contractors required to complete a feasibility study on a timely basis.

The Chief Mine Development

Officer is responsible for identifying and mitigating project risks, working to ensure a high standard of health and safety across the operations, and being part of the team focused on ensuring continued social acceptability from local stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

A comprehensive breakdown of this role includes the following core areas:

Key Responsibilities

- Project Planning & Management: Work with Independent Consultants to establish a detailed plan to a feasibility level for a large two-deposit gold project. Identify and lead a multidisciplinary team to execute on the plan and deliver technical and economic studies, taking projects from PEA through feasibility and into construction. Manage the timelines, budgets, and procurement for new mine infrastructure, aligning geological and hydrological development.

- Permitting & Environmental Compliance: Work with Senior Management to continue work towards an environmental impact assessment,



and ensure compliance with applicable environmental and sustainability standards.

- Health & Safety Focus: Be a leader in ensuring a high level of attention to Safety with the proactive development of a culture of with a priority on Safety.

- Stakeholder Engagement: Work with the local team and provide support to maintain trusted relationships with local communities, government authorities, to support social and regulatory acceptability.

- Financial & Budget Oversight: Manage development budgets, cost estimations, and resource planning to ensure project milestones are delivered on time and within financial constraints.

- Risk Management: Identify infrastructure needs, supply chains, or permitting, developing contingency plans to mitigate project delays.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related Earth Sciences discipline.

- Experience: Typically 10+ years of progressive experience in the mining industry, including significant time in engineering consulting, project development, and mine planning. Track record successfully advancing similar projects.

- Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of (gold) mining and mineral processing, both open pit and underground mining methods,



and capital cost estimation.

- Licensing: A Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or equivalent is usually required or highly preferred.

Soft Skills & Competencies

- Collaborative Leadership: Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams of engineers, geologists, and environmental scientists without direct authority.

- Communication & Negotiation: Established network within the mining industry. Exceptional relationship-building skills to mediate between corporate executives, and field operators.

Work Environment

- On-Site Management: As a senior leader on this project, the role includes significant time in office in Guyana. This time on-site will vary based on the level of site studies and contractor activity and the level of expertise in the team as it develops.

About Us The Omai project has been a rapidly developing exploration project that is transitioning to a development project. The Company completed its Preliminary Economic Assessment in August. The study supports a large open pit and adjacent underground mine, estimated to produce over 350,000 oz/yr over an 18-year mine life.

As a past producing mine, Omai has a signficant leg up on the studies and work required to advance to a Feasibility. The site has a well established 75-person camp, an airstrip, cleared site, and road access to the two largest communities in Guyana. The international airport in Georgetown, the capital city of Guyana is about a 3.5 hour drive.
