Riverstone Excavation & Underground Ltd. is growing, and we are looking for an experienced, well-rounded Civil Construction Foreman to join our team.

We are looking for a strong field leader with broad experience in excavation and civil construction. This is not strictly a water and sewer position. Our work covers everything from earthworks and site development to underground utilities, road work, demolition, drainage, septic systems and general excavation.

The right person will be capable of running a crew, operating equipment when required, understanding plans and grades, using modern layout technology, coordinating materials and trucking, and taking ownership of a project from start to finish.

Responsibilities
- Lead and organize operators, labourers, pipe layers and truck drivers.
- Plan daily work and keep crews productive.
- Read and understand civil drawings, site plans and specifications.
- Understand elevations, grades, slopes, offsets and construction layout.
- Use GPS rovers for layout, elevations and grade checking.
- Use construction lasers, rotary lasers and pipe lasers.
- Establish and verify grades and elevations throughout projects.




- Coordinate excavation, grading, backfilling and compaction.
- Oversee water, sanitary and storm installations when required.
- Coordinate trucking, materials, aggregates and equipment.
- Operate excavators, skid steers, loaders and other equipment when needed.
- Maintain a safe, organized and productive job site.
- Communicate with management, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors and clients.
- Track daily production, materials and job progress.
- Solve problems in the field and keep projects moving on schedule.

Who We're Looking For We're looking for a well-rounded construction professional with experience leading crews in excavation and civil construction.

The ideal candidate will have:

- Foreman or lead-hand experience in excavation or civil construction.
- Strong heavy equipment operating experience.
- Experience reading civil drawings and site plans.
- Experience with grading, earthworks and underground construction.
- Experience using GPS rovers, laser levels and pipe lasers.
- Knowledge of water, sanitary and storm construction is a strong asset.
- Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
- A valid Ontario driver's licence and clean driving record.
- Willingness to work alongside the crew when required.
- Pride in workmanship and attention to detail.

AZ/DZ licence is not required.
