Join our Dartmouth, Nova Scotia team as a Civil Engineering Technologist / Technician and play a key role in delivering municipal infrastructure projects that support growing communities throughout the province. This position offers a unique blend of office and field responsibilities, allowing you to contribute to design development, site assessments, construction support activities, and field inspections.

Working alongside experienced engineers, technologists, and municipal clients, you'll gain valuable experience across all stages of project delivery while helping shape the infrastructure that communities rely on every day.

Your Impact

- Produce civil, municipal infrastructure, and transportation engineering drawings and models using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Coordinate and review drawings alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to support integrated project delivery.
- Support project teams with project coordination, technical documentation, and design deliverables that help communities thrive.
- Prepare engineering reports, technical specifications, quantity estimates, and construction-related documentation for municipal infrastructure projects.
- Investigate field and design challenges and contribute to technical reports, recommendations, and practical solutions.
- Liaise with clients, regulatory agencies, contractors, and project stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.
- Conduct site visits and construction inspections to collect data, verify existing conditions, monitor construction activities, and document progress.
- Help ensure construction work is completed in accordance with project requirements, specifications, safety expectations, and design intent.

The Skills That Set You Apart

- Civil Engineering Technology or Civil Engineering Technician diploma from an accredited college.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar civil engineering design software.
- Strong understanding of engineering drafting,



design documentation, and technical reporting principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in both office and field environments.
- Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence interacting with clients and project stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to travel periodically throughout Nova Scotia for field assignments and site inspections.
- Experience or exposure to municipal infrastructure design, construction inspection, surveying, or related field activities through employment, internships, or academic projects is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with Nova Scotia municipal standards and specifications is considered an asset.
- Eligibility for membership or registration with TechNova is considered an asset.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $57,500 - $76,200

MB & ON: $52,500 - $72,300

NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $52,000 - $69,000
