- Supporting nuclear construction for the SMR project, focusing on concrete mix designs, compliance with codes/standards (ACI 318, ACI 349, CSA A23 series, CSA N291, CSA N287), and quality assurance for nuclear-related structures
- Reviewing and approving concrete mix designs, batch plant/constructor submittals, material/installation specifications
- Preparing and reviewing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Concrete Construction Plans, Thermal Control Plans, and technical procedures
- Coordinating with stakeholders, responding to RFIs, FDCRs, and non-conformance reports
- Supporting concrete construction activities and maintaining design basis documents
Requirement
Must-haves:
- Civil Engineering degree
- Extensive experience in concrete construction, testing, and material testing
- Robust knowledge of ACI 318, ACI 349, and Canadian CSA standards (A23.1, A23.2, N291, N287)
- Nuclear construction industry experience, eligible for export control clearance
- Ability to review and approve concrete-related engineering and construction documents
Nice to have:
- Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), containment pressure testing, and aging management
- Knowledge of ASME Section III Division 2, ASME Section III Division 1, and ASME Section XI Division 1
- Hands-on experience with containment liner design and evaluation
- Knowledge of concrete Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and repair techniques

In accordance with our compensation practices, ALTEN is providing the salary range associated with this opportunity. Final compensation will be determined after considering several factors, including professional experience, skill set, educational background, certifications, and geographic market conditions. The current target salary range for this role is $100,000 – $135,000 per year.
