Summary Of Duties
Provides advanced nutritional management of outpatient oncology patients at the Odette Cancer Centre (T-wing and M6) in accordance with the Clinical Nutrition Standards of Practice and the principles of person and family-centred care. The successful candidate will participate in the advancement of patient care through skilled, program-based and organizational committees, quality initiatives, practice-based research, and interprofessional rounds. The candidate will also participate in the education of dietetic interns and other students as applicable.
Qualifications/Skills
- Current registration with College of Dietitians of Ontario required
- Three years of independent clinical practice with oncology patients required
- Proficiency in nutritional assessment and care
- Experience (3 years) assessing,
implementing and managing nutrition care plans, including enteral nutrition and therapeutic diets required
- Superior communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively as a member of the interprofessional team
- Experience providing patient/family education and counselling
- Demonstrated initiative, innovative thinking, teamwork and ability to effectively prioritize work
- Demonstrated effective communication and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated application of evidence-based practice
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
- Demonstrated knowledge in person-centred care approach and principles
