Are you kind, dependable, organized, and someone who genuinely enjoys helping others?

Near & Dear Concierge is looking for a compassionate Community Support Worker to provide personalized, non-medical assistance to seniors, families, and other community members. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people maintain their independence, stay connected, and manage everyday activities with greater ease.

This is a non-medical position. You will not be expected to provide nursing care, administer medication, perform medical procedures, or provide personal care such as bathing or toileting.

Near & Dear Concierge is a locally owned business serving the Saanich Peninsula and Greater Victoria. We provide thoughtful, practical support that makes everyday life a little easier.

Our goal is to build trusted, long-term relationships with our clients and provide consistent support that feels like having family nearby.

Responsibilities

Depending on the client’s needs, responsibilities may include:

- Providing companionship and friendly check-ins
- Accompanying clients to appointments, activities, or outings
- Providing transportation or helping with errands
- Grocery and medication pickup
- Meal preparation and kitchen support
- Light housekeeping, laundry, and household organization
- Assisting with shopping and other everyday activities
- Providing updates and completing a basic service documentation
- Maintaining a clean, respectful, and safe environment

Qualifications

- Experience supporting seniors, families, or individuals in the community is an asset
- A Health Care Assistant,



Community Support Worker, Caregiver, or related certification is preferred but not mandatory
- Applicants without formal care certification are welcome to apply if they have relevant experience, strong interpersonal skills, and a genuine desire to support others
- Understanding of professional boundaries and the responsibilities of a non-medical support role
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
- Patient, respectful, empathetic, compassionate, and dependable
- Able to work independently and use good judgment
- Comfortable preparing straightforward meals and completing light household tasks
- Physically able to carry out the responsibilities of the position
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writin

Additional Requirements

- Valid driver’s licence
- Reliable vehicle and appropriate automobile insurance
- Willingness to travel within the Saanich Peninsula and Greater Victoria
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Two professional or relevant personal references
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred, or willingness to obtain it
- FoodSafe certification is an asset, or willingness to obtain it
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
