We are a remote-first organization with a dynamic and collaborative finance team. Following our recent migration to NetSuite, we are continuing to strengthen our accounting processes, controls and reporting.

The Role

We are looking for a Controller to own the day-to-day accounting, financial reporting and control environment, reporting directly to the CFO.

This is a hands-on role in a lean finance organization. The Controller will be expected to work comfortably at both the detailed and review levels, preparing and investigating accounting entries and reconciliations when needed, while also taking ownership of the close, corporate reporting, statutory requirements and controls.

Success in this role requires a strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, willingness to learn and adapt, and the ability to collaborate effectively within the organization and externally.

The Controller will be supported by a small finance team. The direct-report structure may change from time to time based on business needs and temporary coverage arrangements.

Responsibilities

- Own full-cycle accounting, including AP, GL, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, revenue and cost recognition, accruals and provisions.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close,



ensuring accurate and timely completion of all accounting activities.
- Prepare group reporting packages and intercompany reconciliations in accordance with required reporting timelines.
- Maintain accounting policies and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and group reporting requirements.
- Prepare and file Canadian indirect taxes, including GST/HST, QST and applicable provincial sales taxes across the jurisdictions in which we operate.
- Coordinate corporate tax returns and other statutory filings with external advisors.
- Manage the annual audit process and act as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
- Maintain and continuously strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, procedures and supporting documentation.
- Own the integrity of the NetSuite general ledger, accounting workflows, approvals and financial reporting.
- Lead ongoing optimization of NetSuite and related financial processes to improve efficiency, reporting quality and internal controls.
- Monitor cash flow and support treasury activities to ensure adequate liquidity and effective working capital management.
- Manage, coach and develop relevant team members, including workload planning, review, performance management and temporary coverage arrangements.
- Partner with the Director of Finance on payroll, accounts receivable and planning matters where accounting and financial reporting intersect.
- Support the CFO with financial analysis, ad hoc requests and broader business partnering.

What We're Looking For

- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of a full month-end and year-end close cycle.
- CPA designation preferred.




- Demonstrated experience with GST/HST and QST compliance, and coordinating corporate tax returns with external advisors.
- Strong ERP experience; NetSuite experience is an asset. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required, and experience with Power BI is an asset.
- Prior people management experience is an asset.
- Dependable and accountable, with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.
- Hands-on, adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
- Able to work effectively and independently in a fully remote setting, with access to a suitable home office environment that supports the effective and confidential performance of job duties.

Compensation and Benefits

CAD 90,000-120,000 base salary, plus an annual performance bonus of up to CAD 10,000. The company also offers three weeks of vacation and a comprehensive advantages package.
