About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Manager to join our team at the Washington Navy Yard in Washington, DC. This onsite role is pivotal in designing, governing, and integrating enterprise semantic models that represent various organizational hierarchies, technical domains, vendors, platforms, and systems. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Flankspeed application developers working across Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Power BI environments to implement unified data management solutions.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex data architecture projects that directly support military and government operations, ensuring data integrity, security, and usability at the enterprise level.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a combination of educational background and extensive hands-on experience in data management and architecture. A high school diploma or equivalent is required,



with at least seven years of progressively responsible experience in data management, data architecture, or database administration. Proven expertise in enterprise data warehousing, relational database design, and schema modeling is essential.

Candidates should have practical experience with Microsoft ecosystem tools such as Power BI, SharePoint, Power Apps, and Power Automate, along with a solid understanding of modern source control formats like TMDL. Strong skills in writing and optimizing complex Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) and tuning query engine performance are critical. Additionally, the ability to translate operational metrics into standardized semantic definitions and KPIs is highly valued.

Responsibilities

- Design, govern, and integrate enterprise semantic models that accurately represent organizational hierarchies, technical domains, vendors, platforms, and systems.
- Collaborate directly with Flankspeed application developers across Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, and Power BI to implement cohesive data solutions.
- Execute the initial setup of semantic models and relational databases swiftly to meet current project schedules and operational demands.
- Develop, write, and optimize complex Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) while tuning VertiPaq engine performance to ensure efficient data processing and minimal memory usage.
- Manage version control and governance using modern formats like TMDL within secure tenant environments, ensuring data integrity and compliance.




- Structure semantic metadata in a clear and organized manner to support downstream AI assistants, natural language processing, and automated reporting systems.
- Translate complex operational and administrative metrics into standardized semantic definitions and mathematically accurate KPIs to facilitate consistent reporting and analysis.
