Job Summary

Lorvale Academy is seeking an experienced part-time teacher to lead DECA and Debate instruction for students. The ideal candidate has a strong teaching background and can help students develop business knowledge, critical thinking, research, and public speaking skills.

Experience coaching students for DECA or similar business competitions is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging DECA and Debate lessons tailored to students’ levels and goals.

- Coach students in DECA role-plays, case analysis, business presentations, and competition preparation.

- Teach students to research topics, build clear arguments, respond to opposing viewpoints, and speak persuasively.

- Lead practice sessions and provide specific, constructive feedback to help students improve.

- Track student progress and communicate learning goals with the academic team.

- Create a supportive classroom workplace that encourages participation,



confidence, and respectful discussion.

Qualifications

- Substantial experience teaching or coaching school-aged students, preferably in DECA, Debate, business studies, public speaking, or a related field.

- Experience coaching students for DECA or similar business competitions is strongly preferred.

- Strong knowledge of business concepts, case analysis, argumentation, and presentation skills.

- Ability to plan structured lessons, adapt instruction to different skill levels, and provide actionable feedback.

- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

- Availability to teach part-time in Oakville, Ontario.

Pay: $25.00-$45.00 per hour
