Role Description The Drayage Dispatcher is a full-time, on-site/Remote/Hybrid role based in Toronto, ON. This position is responsible for coordinating and dispatching drayage moves, including scheduling pick-ups and deliveries between ports, rail yards, and customer facilities. The role involves tracking and tracing shipments, updating transportation management systems, and communicating clear instructions to drivers and carriers.

The Drayage

Dispatcher will monitor service performance, resolve delays or exceptions, and ensure compliance with customer requirements, safety standards, and applicable regulations. Daily responsibilities also include working closely with operations, customer service, and sales teams to optimize routes, control costs, and maintain accurate documentation.

Qualifications

- Experience in transportation, logistics, or drayage dispatching, preferably in cross-border or intermodal operations.
- Solid communication and coordination skills to interact effectively with drivers, carriers, customers,



and internal teams.
- Ability to use dispatch, TMS, GPS tracking, and related logistics software, along with solid general computer skills (e.g., email, spreadsheets).
- Proven organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple shipments, changing priorities, and tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of port/rail operations, hours-of-service rules, and basic transportation compliance is an asset.
- Problem-solving skills to address service disruptions, equipment issues, and scheduling conflicts in a calm, solution-focused manner.
- Detail orientation for accurate data entry, documentation, and record-keeping.
- Previous experience in trucking, freight brokerage, or intermodal drayage experience is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is considered an asset.
