Role Description
The Early Childhood Educator – Infant Toddler is a full-time, on-site role located in West Kelowna, BC. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada and have a valid BC ECE certification.
- In this position, the educator plans and implements developmentally appropriate, play-based activities Provide attentive, responsive, and nurturing care to infants and toddlers
- Plan and participate in age-appropriate activities that support children's physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language development
- Follow children's individual routines, including meals, naps, diapering, and personal care
- Observe children's interests, development, and behaviour and use these observations to support learning
- Build positive and respectful relationships with children and families
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom workplace
- Follow all health, safety, and childcare policies and procedures
- Work collaboratively with other educators and centre staff
- Communicate regularly and professionally with families
- Complete required documentation and daily records
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 Years experience working in childcare facility.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills, including clear communication, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of Early Childhood Development, including infant and toddler milestones, play-based learning principles, and social-emotional support strategies.
- Candidates should possess Creativity Skills, such as designing engaging activities, adapting materials for varied abilities, and encouraging curiosity and imaginative play.
- Candidates should possess experience Working With Children in group care or educational settings, with a focus on nurturing, guidance, and positive behavior support.
- Candidates should possess strong Organization Skills, including time management, classroom setup, routine planning, and accurate documentation of children’s learning.
- Early Childhood Educator (ECE) certification and Infant Toddler specialization (or eligibility/intent to obtain) are strongly preferred.
- Current first aid/CPR certification, adherence to health and safety regulations, and capacity to meet physical demands of working with young children (e.g., lifting, floor-level interaction) are beneficial.
