Role Summary The Engagement Manager Canada will play a key role in growing EGI's presence across the Canadian market. The role combines market development, senior client engagement and opportunity leadership across Canada's provincially structured electricity sector.

The successful candidate will build trusted relationships with utilities, system operators, regulators, governments, Indigenous organizations, developers and infrastructure investors, while positioning EGI's expertise in power system transformation and performance, in grid modernization, interprovincial and international interties, HVDC, offshore wind integration, renewable integration, system operations, asset management, market design and regulatory transformation.

Working closely with EGI's international organization and Elia Group experts, the Engagement Manager will identify and shape strategic opportunities, mobilize the right expertise and partnerships, and convert client needs into sustainable consulting assignments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Engagement and Thought Leadership
- Cultivate lasting relationships with senior executives and decision-makers across Canadian utilities, system operators, regulators, federal and provincial authorities, Indigenous organizations, developers and infrastructure investors.

- Encourage key internal experts to engage more dynamically with clients, fostering a culture of active involvement and innovative problem solving.

- Opportunity Identification and Business Development

- Develop and maintain a Canada market strategy and opportunity pipeline, reflecting provincial differences in regulation, utility structures, procurement, investment priorities, and market maturity.
- Originate and qualify opportunities related to grid modernization, interprovincial and Canada-US interties, HVDC systems, offshore wind connections, renewable and storage integration, resilience, asset transformation, and electricity-market and regulatory reform.

- Contract Negotiation and Deal Closure

- Drive negotiations, leveraging a track record of impactful contract signings that contribute significantly to EGI’s growth and client satisfaction.
- Oversee the entire deal lifecycle, from initial engagement to deal closure, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.

- Partnership and Team Collaboration

- Build and manage a robust ecosystem of Canadian engineering firms, specialist consultancies, academic and industry organizations,

and Indigenous and local partners to complement EGI capabilities and strengthen project delivery.
- Act as a key team player within the organization, facilitating cross-functional collaboration to ensure the seamless execution of projects and initiatives.

Candidate Profile

- Master's degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience in the energy sector, infrastructure, or management consulting, including significant client-facing and/or business-development responsibilities. Strong knowledge of the Canadian electricity sector and an established professional network within the Canadian power industry are highly valued.
- Demonstrated ability to engage credibly with senior executives and decision-makers and to originate, shape and convert strategic opportunities into significant consulting assignments.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to connect client challenges with technical, regulatory, and business capabilities and develop compelling solutions.
- Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, combined with the ability to mobilize technical experts and multidisciplinary teams.
