Garrington Private Credit

Toronto

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Garrington Private Credit is a North American private credit fund focused on originating and managing senior secured, asset-backed loans to lower middle-market businesses, including small- and medium-sized operating companies and lender finance platforms across North America.

The Garrington Private Credit Strategy (the “Garrington Strategy”) was launched in May 2015 and has a proven track record of managing third-party investor capital for over ten years. The firm partners with family offices, RIAs, private banks, and select institutional allocators across both onshore and offshore markets.

Garrington Capital, the firm's lending business, is headquartered in Toronto, has been operating since 1999 and is now one of Canada’s largest non-bank private lenders. Over the past 25 years, we have provided more than $5 billion in financing.

THE OPPORTUNITY The Executive Associate to the Managing Director is a high-visibility role that reports directly to the Managing Director and works in close partnership with them on the firm's capital raising and operational activities. This individual will shadow the Managing Director day-to-day, joining virtually every investor and borrower call, information session, and webinar, and will be responsible for turning what is discussed and promised on those calls into timely, accurate action.

This is not a traditional executive associate role. The successful candidate will be embedded in the rhythm of a C-suite executive's calendar and workflow, gaining first-hand exposure to how capital is raised, how investor relationships are built and maintained, how the business's origination and operational functions run day to day, and how a deal moves from first conversation to close. In return, the firm expects a high level of organization, discretion, initiative, and follow-through.

The role is best suited to someone who is motivated by the chance to learn quickly in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment, who takes ownership of tasks without needing to be asked twice, who is capable of managing a team, and who is genuinely interested in building a long-term career in capital raising, investor relations, and executive management – with the ambition and capability to grow into a senior leadership role over time.

- Assist with answering due diligence questions.
- Act as an additional point of contact for investors on administrative or follow-up matters.
- Help coordinate logistics for investor meetings, calls, and travel where required.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

FIRM/OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT

- Attend all management meetings alongside the Managing Director, taking notes and tracking action items.
- Support the day-to-day management of the Managing Director's direct reports, helping ensure priorities, deadlines, and deliverables are on track.
- Keep the Managing Director organized on commitments, deliverables, and follow-ups arising from management meetings, proactively flagging what's due and when.
- Help coordinate cross-functional priorities between the Managing Director's team and the broader business.
- Progressively take on greater responsibility and decision-making authority, with the goal of being able to step in for the Managing Director when needed.
- Perform other operational or firm management duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
