Dew Crew Contracting LTD is an Ottawa-area framing contractor specializing in residential and multi-unit construction. We work on new-build homes, row houses, apartment projects and other wood-frame construction throughout Ottawa and the surrounding area.

We are looking to add an experienced carpenter/framer to our crew. We are looking for someone dependable, hardworking and comfortable working as part of a fast-paced framing team.

Responsibilities

- Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints and specifications
- Measure, cut and assemble lumber and other building materials
- Frame floors, walls, roofs and other structural components
- Install floor systems, subflooring, wall systems and roof systems
- Complete back framing and other framing-related work
- Use hand tools, power tools and framing equipment safely
- Maintain an organized and secure job site
- Work efficiently with other members of the framing crew
- Follow site plans, building requirements and company safety procedures
- Perform other carpentry and construction duties as required

Requirements

- Previous carpentry or wood-framing experience preferred
- Experience with residential construction and new builds is an asset
- Able to read a tape measure and accurately complete measurements and cuts
- Comfortable using standard carpentry and framing tools




- Physically able to lift and carry building materials and work on active construction sites
- Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a crew
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship
- Safety-conscious
- Reliable transportation to job sites is an asset

Work Conditions This is a physically active construction position. Work includes standing, lifting, bending, carrying materials, repetitive movements and working outdoors. Job locations may vary throughout Ottawa and the surrounding area.

We're looking for someone who knows their way around a framing site, shows up ready to work and takes pride in doing the job properly. Dew Crew is a small, hands-on crew, so being dependable and able to work well with the rest of the team is important.
