VK Communications is looking for an experienced technician to join our team. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working on installation projects, handling ladders, drilling, running cables, and working with networking and IP-based systems.

Pay: $22.00–$23.00 per hour

Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week

Job Type: Full time hours available based on projects

Location: Brampton, ON and various job sites across the GTA

Start: As soon as possible

Requirements

1–2 years of relevant hands-on experience in low-voltage, security, networking, telecommunications, or similar installation work. Previous experience with jobs involving:

- Drilling and mounting equipment
- Cable pulling and routing
- Low-voltage wiring and installations
- CCTV/security camera installations
- Networking and equipment setup
- General tools and installation equipment
- Must be comfortable safely handling and working with ladders up to 28 feet.
- Good understanding of IP addresses, networking, and basic network troubleshooting.
- Ability to configure modems, routers, and network equipment.
- Experience with dish/satellite installation is an asset.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors and at different job sites.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.

Job Duties

- Install and configure CCTV and IP camera systems.




- Drill, mount, and install cameras, equipment, brackets, and related devices.
- Run, route, terminate, and organize low-voltage/network cables.
- Configure IP addresses and network-connected devices.
- Configure modems, routers, and basic networking equipment.
- Connect and configure cameras and other IP devices to the network.
- Perform basic network troubleshooting and connectivity checks.
- Install and set up dish/satellite equipment when required.
- Work with ladders, including 28-foot ladders, when required for installations.
- Read basic installation instructions, drawings, and work orders.
- Test installed equipment and confirm proper operation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow company safety procedures and job-site requirements.
- Travel to different residential and commercial project locations as required.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a hands-on technician, not someone who only has classroom knowledge. You should be comfortable using tools, drilling, climbing ladders, installing equipment, running cables, and troubleshooting basic networking issues.
