Bello Water

Montreal

About BelloBello Water is a fast-growing Canadian consumer-products company. We've built a connected water system that combines hardware, consumable products and technology, and we're entering an important stage of growth.

Our direct-to-consumer business is expanding, we're growing our retail presence across Canada and the United States, and we're scaling manufacturing and inventory to support that growth.

We're building Bello with a small, hands-on team where people take real ownership and work closely across functions. We're now looking for someone to help us build the financial and inventory infrastructure required for the next stage of the company.

About the RoleThe simplest way to describe this role: help us understand and manage the relationship between cash, inventory and profitability.

This is a hands-on finance and inventory role for someone who wants broad exposure to how a growing consumer-products company actually operates.

You'll work directly with the founders and team across finance, operations, retail and marketing. You'll help manage cash flow, inventory planning, reporting, budgeting and financial analysis, while also getting involved in the day-to-day work required to keep the finance function running properly.

This is not a role where you'll inherit a large team or simply review work prepared by others. We're looking for someone who is comfortable getting into the details, building models and dashboards, working through accounting and operational data, and helping us improve the systems behind the business.

There's significant room for the role to grow as Bello scales.

What You'll Work On1. Cash Flow, Financial Planning & Day-to-Day FinanceCash visibility is one of the most important areas of our business.

You'll help maintain and improve our weekly, monthly and longer-term cash-flow forecasting, including tracking incoming and outgoing cash, inventory commitments, retailer payments, operating expenses and financing needs.

You'll also be involved in the day-to-day finance function, including areas such as:

- Budgeting and forecast-vs-actual reporting
- AP and AR
- Bookkeeping oversight and accounting support
- Payroll
- Cash management
- Management reporting
- Financial modelling and scenario analysis

The goal is not simply to report what happened. We want someone who can understand the numbers, identify issues early and help us make better decisions from them.
- Inventory & Supply-Chain Financial PlanningBecause Bello sells physical products, inventory is one of the biggest drivers of our cash needs.

You'll work closely with our team to understand:
- What inventory we need to order
- When we need to order it
- How much cash those orders require
- Supplier deposits and payment schedules
- Production and shipping lead times
- MOQs and volume discounts
- Reorder points and safety stock
- Inventory turnover and excess inventory
- The impact of inventory decisions on cash flow

Our products are manufactured internationally and can have long lead times, so you'll help us build better visibility between sales forecasts, purchase orders, production schedules and cash requirements.
- Retail & D2C Financial AnalysisBello sells both directly to consumers and through major retailers.

You'll help us understand the economics of both channels.

For retail accounts, that means modelling things like:

- Wholesale margins
- Payment terms
- Inventory requirements
- Retailer deductions and fees
- Financing costs
- Cash-conversion cycles
- Account-level profitability

On the D2C side, you'll also work with marketing and e-commerce data to understand metrics such as customer acquisition cost, ROAS, contribution margin and customer lifetime value. We want finance to work closely with the rest of the business, not operate in a silo.
- Cost Optimization & Working CapitalYou'll help us understand exactly where our money is going and identify opportunities to improve margins and working capital.

That can include

- Breaking down COGS by component
- Comparing supplier pricing
- Modelling different purchase quantities
- Evaluating supplier payment terms
- Preparing for supplier negotiations
- Understanding the cash impact of different production decisions

You'll also get exposure to working-capital financing, including lines of credit, inventory financing and PO financing, and help us compare different financing options and understand their true cost.
- Build Better SystemsA lot of what we need does not yet exist in its final form.

You'll help build and continuously improve things like:
- Cash-flow dashboards
- Inventory dashboards
- Retailer profitability models
- Forecast-vs-actual reporting
- Budgeting tools
- Cash-conversion models
- Purchase and inventory planning tools
- Management reporting

We're particularly interested in someone who likes using modern tools, automation and AI to reduce repetitive work and create better visibility across the company. Who We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone earlier in their finance career who is ambitious, analytical and wants significantly more responsibility than they would typically get inside a large company.

You may currently be working in FP&A;, commercial finance, supply-chain finance, accounting, operations finance or another analytical finance role and want to move into a position where you can see and influence much more of the business.

You don't need to have done every part of this job before.

What matters is that you have strong financial fundamentals, are comfortable working with data,

and are willing to learn quickly and get into the details.

This is a startup, so the work can range from building a cash-flow model or analyzing a multimillion-dollar retail opportunity to helping solve a bookkeeping, payroll or inventory issue the same day.

We're looking for someone who enjoys that environment.

Experience We're Looking For

- Strong foundation in finance, accounting or FP&A;
- Excellent Excel / Google Sheets and financial-modelling skills
- Experience working with cash flow, budgeting or financial forecasting
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with large amounts of financial and operational data
- Ability to build transparent reporting and dashboards
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of projects
- Strong attention to detail
- Clear communication and ability to turn analysis into recommendations
- Interest in inventory, supply chain and the economics of physical-product businesses

Experience in an inventory-heavy, consumer-products, retail or e-commerce business is particularly relevant. Nice to Have
- Experience with inventory planning or supply-chain finance
- Retail finance experience
- Experience with long lead times or international manufacturing
- Exposure to working-capital, inventory or PO financing
- Experience working with banks or lenders
- COGS or supplier-cost analysis
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting platforms
- Startup or high-growth company experience
- Experience using automation or AI within finance
- CPA designation or progress toward one

None of these are absolute requirements. Why Join BelloThis is an opportunity to join Bello at a stage where you'll get exposure to parts of the business that would normally be split across several different finance roles.

You'll work directly with the founders and have visibility into major decisions involving cash, inventory, retail, manufacturing, marketing and financing.

You'll also have the opportunity to build systems rather than simply inherit them.

As Bello grows, we expect the finance function to grow with it, creating significant room for this position to take on greater responsibility over time.

Compensation for the role is $100,000–$140,000 CAD depending on experience, with the potential to participate in Bello's employee stock option plan.

Location & Working ModelThis is a hybrid Montreal-based position.

We're specifically looking for someone based in Montreal or the surrounding area who can spend part of their working time in person with the team at our Montreal office, while also having the flexibility to work remotely part of the week.

We believe the combination is important: the role requires close collaboration with the founders and operating team, while still allowing flexibility for focused work from home.

If you're looking for a role where you can get much closer to the numbers, operations and decisions that actually drive a growing company, we'd like to meet you.
