Under the supervision of the Director of Technical Services, the Finishing Specialist is responsible for maintaining and improving the appearance and condition of the Spa's interior and exterior spaces.
The successful candidate will perform a variety of hands-on finishing, repair, painting, and maintenance tasks to ensure that the property remains clean, well-maintained, and consistent with the Spa's high aesthetic standards.
This is a hands-on, multi-skilled position suited to an individual with practical experience in finishing, carpentry, painting, general maintenance, or a related trade. The position requires attention to detail, good judgment, and the ability to identify and address minor aesthetic and maintenance issues throughout the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general finishing and repair work throughout the property, including minor carpentry, drywall repairs, surface repairs, painting, caulking, and touch-ups.
- Perform minor ceramic and tile repairs and replacements as required.
- Prepare surfaces for finishing by cleaning, sanding, patching, priming, and completing other preparation work.
- Complete paint touch-ups and repainting of walls, ceilings, doors, trim, furniture, and other surfaces as required.
- Repair and maintain furniture, fixtures, and equipment when appropriate.
- Identify areas requiring repair, maintenance, or aesthetic improvement and bring them to the attention of the Technical Services team.
- Complete assigned work according to established quality standards and timelines.
- Follow drawings, plans, product specifications, and instructions when required.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and ensure that tools and materials are properly maintained.
- Work safely and follow all applicable workplace safety procedures, building codes, and regulations.
- Assist other members of the Technical Services team with general maintenance and property improvement projects as required.
- Perform work in both indoor and outdoor environments and in a variety of areas throughout the Spa.
- Take pride in maintaining the overall appearance and condition of a high-end hospitality environment.
Qualifications and Experience
- 2–3 years of practical experience in finishing, carpentry, painting, general maintenance, renovation, or a related trade.
- Experience with basic carpentry and finishing techniques.
- Experience with painting, surface preparation, patching, caulking, and touch-up work.
- Basic knowledge of ceramic/tile repair and installation is an asset.
- Experience working with hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and follow basic plans, drawings, product instructions, and specifications.
- Previous experience in a hotel, resort, spa, restaurant, commercial property, or other high-standard environment is an asset.
- Formal trade certification is an asset but not required.

- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
- Good physical condition and manual dexterity.
- Comfortable working on ladders and performing repetitive physical tasks when required.
- French and English bilingualism is an asset.
Compensation Starting wage: $28.00/hour
Salary may be adjusted based on relevant experience, technical skills, and overall qualifications.
