Forage Field Marketer – Training Program

Performance Seed is looking for a driven, outgoing, and ambitious person to join our team as a Forage Field Marketer (training program)

This is an prospect to build a career in the forage seed industry. We will train the right person through a structured training program covering forage agronomy, seed standards, forage species, sales, marketing, and customer relations.

Location

Reporting to Lethbridge, Alberta, with travel required throughout Southern Alberta and surrounding area.

Compensation

Starting compensation will be offered at a range of $37,500 to $52,500, depending on experience.

Performance bonuses will be offered additionally.

The Role

- Support our sales team with customer service and follow-up
- Build relationships with current and prospective customers
- Spend time on farms and in the field promoting Performance Seed
- Maintain and develop our CRM and customer database
- Attend trade shows, field tours, local meetings and industry events
- Help with social media, website, e-marketing, signage and other promotions
- Assist with research farm activities and variety demonstrations
- Learn forage agronomy, taxonomy, seed production and industry regulations
- Assist other areas of the business as needed

Agricultural experience, sales experience, or an agronomy background would be an asset, but the right attitude and willingness to learn matter more than a specific degree or experience.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Valid class 5 driver's licence and reliable transportation
- Grade 12 diploma or GED
- Must be eligible for cross-border travel to the United States and able to meet applicable U.S. entry requirements, including any required background screening.
- Interest in agriculture (experience in agriculture an asset)
- Willingness to travel throughout Southern Alberta
- Comfortable working on farms and around growers
- Strong communication and people skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Comfortable with computers, CRM systems, and social media
- Willingness to learn forage agronomy, seed standards and regulations
- Willingness to attend occasional early morning, evening or weekend events during busy periods
