THE CHANCE
We are looking for a friendly, organized and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in a temporary full-time role.
This is a hands-on role that supports both patients and the pharmacy team. You'll work across the dispensary, reception and packaging stations, helping manage prescriptions, patient requests, inventory, deliveries and day-to-day workflow.
The position is expected to continue until January 1, 2027, with the possibility of an extension based on operational needs.

You're personable, organized, dependable and comfortable working in a busy healthcare environment. You communicate clearly, protect patient confidentiality and pay close attention to detail. You can manage changing priorities, work independently when needed and contribute positively as part of a team.
You're also willing to learn current systems and procedures and understand that accuracy, patience and respectful service are essential in a pharmacy setting.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Greet patients and customers warmly and professionally
- Answer phone calls and inquiries courteously and efficiently
- Assist patients with prescription refills, delivery options, and general questions.
- Promote and book pharmacy services, including blister packaging and medication reviews with the pharmacist
- Assist patients with applications for the Newfoundland and Labrador Prescription Drug Program
- Read and interpret prescriptions and enter prescription information accurately into Kroll software
- Assist with packaging and labelling prescriptions under pharmacist supervision
- Troubleshoot third-party insurance issues and help ensure prescription pricing is accurate
- Prepare tablet, capsule and liquid medications, weigh and package creams, and manage blister packs
- Manage prescription workflow and ensure prescriptions are bagged and ready for pickup as instructed
- Process payments, coordinate deliveries and book phone appointments
- Receive and process medication orders, restock supplies and help monitor inventory and expired medications
- Support special clinic days, including flu and COVID-19 vaccination clinics
- Maintain a clean, safe and organized dispensary and comply with infection-control protocols
YOU BRING
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Strong organization skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfort using computers and learning pharmacy software and systems
- A professional approach to confidentiality and patient privacy
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and contribute as part of a team
- A positive attitude, reliability and willingness to learn
- Previous pharmacy, healthcare, medical office, customer service or Kroll experience is a strong asset.
TRAINING PROVIDED
We'll provide training on our pharmacy workflow, internal systems, Kroll software, prescription processing procedures and relevant patient services.
