Saturn has an prospect for a Geophysics Student based in the Calgary, Alberta office. Reporting to the Team Lead, Geophysics, the Geophysics Student will work alongside Geoscience Professionals, developing hands on experience and skills relevant to a career in oil and gas exploration and development.
In this role, the responsibilities and duties of the Geophysics Student include, but are not limited to:
- Detailed review of available 2D and 3D seismic datasets using technically appropriate in-house Geophysical tools.
- Analysis can include structural mapping, amplitude mapping, isochronal mapping, time slicing, attribute extraction, pre/post stack inversion, and machine learning (AI).
- Geophysical results are to be correlated with existing well control/mapping and vetted through direct collaboration with resident Geologists and Geophysicists.
- Geophysical interpretations will be integrated into technical team development plans and used to support and/or expand existing plays and identify potential drilling opportunities.
- Summarized findings will be compiled and presented to technical team at regular intervals.
The preferred student will be enrolled in the 3rd year of an accredited Geophysics program and possess an engaged, team-centric attitude with superior communication skills.
