Embark on a fulfilling career as a Harm Reduction Worker with House of Friendship, supporting safer substance use in a compassionate environment. This role involves direct support for individuals while promoting health and safety. As a Harm Reduction Worker in our Addiction Services, you will contribute to the Safer Use Program, which tackles the opioid crisis by providing a respectful, safe space for substance use.
You will foster supportive relationships and help participants navigate safer practices while ensuring a hygienic environment. Your expertise will greatly impact individuals' well-being and community safety. Key Responsibilities:
- Engage and orient participants to services effectively
- Maintain a clean, organized SUP environment
- Supervise substance consumption and respond to crises
- Distribute harm reduction supplies and resources
- Offer training in overdose prevention and Naloxone use
Requirements:
- Minimum college diploma in related field
- Knowledge of substance use health risks
- Experience in harm reduction and peer support
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills
- Vulnerable Sector check required pre-employment
