Enhance your theatrical expertise with Alberta Theatre Projects as the Head Dresser. This key role in Calgary ensures costumes remain performance-ready during productions through meticulous organization and teamwork. As the Head Dresser for Alberta Theatre Projects, you will report directly to the Production Manager and Technical Director.
Your solid technical skills, attention to detail, and collaborative spirit are essential for supporting our 2026-2027 season at the Martha Cohen Theatre. You'll manage costume care, coordinate quick changes, and foster a safe backstage environment across multiple productions. Key Responsibilities:
- Create and archive wardrobe documentation for productions
- Oversee costume maintenance and cleaning schedules
- Coordinate with Resident Theatre Companies for shared resources
- Serve as primary wardrobe crew member during performances
- Ensure wardrobe workspace is clean and organized Requirements:
- 3+ years in a theatrical environment with supervisory experience
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of fabrics and garment care
- Basic proficiency in stitching and wig maintenance
