About The Role
Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, the Health and Safety Coordinator works closely with operations and HSEQ teams to coordinate location-specific health and safety activities, maintain safety management systems, support regulatory compliance, and promote a proactive safety culture across the Timmins and Penhorwood operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support health and safety programs, systems, and compliance requirements across the Timmins and Penhorwood operations
- Maintain safety records, reporting processes, and related documentation to support regulatory and operational requirements
- Support incident reporting, investigations, audits, safety communications, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Coordinate health and safety training, employee indoctrination, contractor safety requirements, and related site initiatives
- Work collaboratively with operations, employees, contractors, and HSEQ leadership to promote safe work practices and a proactive safety culture
Qualifications & Experience
- CRST certification, or working toward this designation
- Good working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, mining regulations, and industrial regulations
- Experience in open pit mining operations is considered an asset
- 1–3 years of experience in an industrial or mining environment
Skills & Attributes
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate safety management systems and administrative requirements
- Effective communication, training, and presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Comfortable preparing reports, maintaining records, and working with safety data
- Computer skills required to manage data management software, databases, and reporting tools
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, manage priorities, and work with appropriate guidance from leadership
