Position: Health Care Aide - Permanent Full-Time This position delivers resident-focused care within full scope of practice of a HCA, in a home-like environment, respecting the individuality and dignity of each resident/family and co-workers including the completion of the following duties: Assist residents with medication administration, bathing, grooming, dressing, applying treatment creams, assisting in therapeutic activities, and ensure daily, the neatness of residents’ rooms, furniture, clothes closets, mobility devices, tub/washrooms, utility rooms, and kitchen/serveries Participate in all aspects of personal resident care to ensure the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of each resident/family are met and so that the resident is as independent as possible Deliver effective and productive care under the direction of the supervisor that promotes resident/family choice and acknowledges the resident strengths, limitations, as well as their need for safety and the safety of another resident/family and staff Care conferences, as directed; Unit meetings,



general staff meetings, and HCA meetings Participate in continuous quality improvement of the care unit and associated care services by ongoing collection and documentation of data Health Care Aide certificate (or equivalent) from an accredited institution CPR/BCLS for healthcare providers required Active enrollment in the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory Demonstrated skills in communication, teamwork, organization, and customer service, with a high attention to detail and thoroughness and a demonstrated knowledge and commitment to person-centered care Awareness of accident and injury prevention, hazard identification and control; Ability to work on his/her feet for a complete shift while constantly bending, stretching, walking, lifting, or moving things At Christenson Communities we make it our priority to foster inclusive work environments welcomed to diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
