The Regional Clinical Educator plays a key role in advancing clinical excellence and workforce capability across an assigned portfolio of long-term care (LTC) homes. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Clinical Education, the regional clinical educator partners with home and regional leaders and frontline teams to deliver standardized, evidence-informed clinical skills education. Through onboarding hands-on skills training, simulation, coaching, and competency development, the Regional Clinical Educator supports secure practice, staff confidence, and high-quality, person-centred resident care.

This educator also helps translate policies and best practices into everyday practice while contributing to the development, evaluation, and expansion of Extendicare’s clinical education program. We are currently recruiting two Regional Clinical Educator for Western Ontario.

The Regional Clinical

Educator role is a hybrid working role, that combines administrative responsibilities (e.g.

education content development, scheduling), and frequent in-person education across assigned LTC homes. Regular regional travel is an essential requirement. Facilitate engaging, learner-centred education through skills labs, simulation, microlearning, bedside coaching, and virtual delivery where applicable Translate legislation, clinical policies, procedures, and best practices into clear and practical clinical skills education Use learning technologies, virtual platforms, and the learning management system to improve access and learner engagement Contribute to quality improvement, resident safety, and clinical practice-change initiatives Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) in good standing with the applicable provincial regulatory college Minimum 3–5 years of clinical nursing experience,



preferably in long-term care, geriatrics, or a related setting..

Experience in clinical education delivery, adult learning, and competency development Demonstrated experience facilitating group education and applying adult learning principles Knowledge of long-term care standards and infection prevention practices Familiarity with quality improvement and resident safety principles Proficiency with Microsoft Office, virtual learning, and LMS platforms Ability to travel regularly across multiple sites Graduate education in Nursing, Education, Leadership, or an adult education credential is an asset Continuous mentorship, support for life-long learning and growth opportunities A rewarding and meaningful work experience where you can enrich your life and the lives of others through your work Employee Family Assistance Program Full time At Extendicare, we’ve spent more than 50 years dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for residents in our long-term care homes across Canada.
