Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Health Educator - Staff $36.518 to $44.655

: Health promotion for employees is instrumental when supporting a healthy workplace. This position will monitor and support the on-site fitness facilities ensuring a safe workout environment and will support and education employees in healthy lifestyles programming. This position will report to the manager of organizational learning and effectiveness and will work closely with the healthy workplace leadership team. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Experience

- Experience in fitness training & consultation.
- Experience working with older adults

Education

- Bachelor of Therapeutic Recreation (BTR)

Other Education and Training

- Current CPR certification
- Bachelor of Physical Therapy is acceptable
- Master of Health Promotion is acceptable
- First Aid Certificate

Competencies

- Advanced - Research skills

- Advanced - Facilitation skills

Knowledge and Abilities

- Knowledge in education and program development, implementation and evaluation
- Knowledge in fitness theory and older adult fitness

evaluate and modify programming provided to clients
- Knowledge in applicable tools and equipment
- Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to be flexible and willing to change
