Role Description The Heavy Equipment Territory Manager is a full-time, in office role based in Halifax, NS, responsible for driving sales and building long-term relationships within an assigned territory. In this role, the individual will actively prospect and visit customers in construction, road work, mining, forestry, agriculture, and related industries to identify equipment, trailer, and attachment needs. Day-to-day activities include preparing quotes, presenting product solutions, negotiating pricing and terms, and coordinating demos and site visits.
The Territory
Manager will work closely with service and parts teams to ensure seamless customer support, resolve issues, and promote maintenance and service programs. The role also involves tracking market trends, maintaining accurate CRM records, and representing Wilson Equipment at industry events and trade shows to strengthen brand presence and generate new business.
Qualifications
- Sales and customer relationship skills, including territory management, prospecting, account development, and negotiation.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment applications, including construction, road building, mining, forestry, agriculture, and related industrial sectors.
- Ability to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate equipment, trailers, attachments, and service solutions.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities, with capacity to explain technical features and value propositions clearly.
- Organizational and planning skills for managing a busy schedule, maintaining CRM data, and prioritizing opportunities.
- Comfort working on-site and in the field, including regular customer visits across the assigned territory.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record suitable for frequent travel within the region.
- Previous experience in equipment sales, industrial sales, or a related field is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of Nova Scotia’s construction and resource industries and local market conditions is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in business, marketing, or a technical discipline is an advantage, or equivalent experience.
