Independent Sales Contractor – Automotive Plastic Injection Molding
Job Summary
SyBridge Technologies is seeking an experienced Independent Sales Contractor to support business development activities within the Canadian automotive plastic injection molding market.
This opportunity is suited to a well-connected sales professional with established relationships across automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, Tier 2 suppliers, tooling organizations, and plastic injection molding manufacturers. The Independent Sales Contractor will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing customer relationships, expanding market presence, and generating profitable sales opportunities aligned with SyBridge Technologies' capabilities.
The successful contractor will bring strong commercial knowledge of the automotive injection molding industry, an understanding of tooling and manufacturing processes, and the ability to independently develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities.
This is an independent contractor engagement and is intended for a self-directed sales professional who can leverage industry knowledge, relationships, and market intelligence to grow SyBridge Technologies' presence within the Canadian automotive sector.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities within the Canadian automotive plastic injection molding sector.
Develop relationships with automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, Tier 2 suppliers, injection molders, tooling companies, and other relevant industry partners.
Leverage existing industry relationships and develop new contacts to expand SyBridge Technologies' customer base.
Promote SyBridge Technologies' plastic injection molding, tooling, engineering, manufacturing, and related capabilities to prospective customers.
Identify customer programs, sourcing opportunities, new platforms, tooling requirements, and production opportunities at early stages of the sales cycle.
Generate qualified leads and maintain an active pipeline of prospective automotive business opportunities.
Coordinate with internal estimating, engineering, operations, program management, and commercial teams to evaluate customer opportunities.
Support the preparation and presentation of proposals, quotations,
capability presentations, and customer solutions.
Assist with commercial negotiations related to pricing, scope, timing, tooling, production volumes, and other customer requirements.
Develop a strong understanding of customer needs and recommend solutions aligned with SyBridge Technologies' capabilities.
Maintain regular communication with prospective and existing customers throughout the sales process.
Provide market intelligence regarding competitors, customer activity, automotive programs, industry trends, sourcing activity, and emerging opportunities.
Attend customer meetings, industry events, conferences, trade shows, and networking opportunities where beneficial.
Provide accurate sales activity, pipeline, and opportunity updates as required.
Required Qualifications
Five (5) or more years of business development, technical sales, account management, or commercial experience within automotive plastic injection molding, tooling, plastics manufacturing, or a closely related sector.
Established relationships within the Canadian automotive manufacturing industry are strongly preferred.
Solid knowledge of plastic injection molding processes, tooling, mold manufacturing, production requirements, and automotive program lifecycles.
Experience selling to automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, Tier 2 suppliers, or automotive injection molding organizations.
Demonstrated ability to independently generate leads and develop new customer relationships.
Strong understanding of RFQ, quoting, sourcing, and commercial negotiation processes.
Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
Ability to understand technical manufacturing requirements and communicate effectively with engineering, tooling, operations, and purchasing professionals.
Strong commercial judgment and ability to identify profitable business opportunities.
Ability to work independently and manage sales activities, customer relationships, and travel requirements.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout Canada and internationally as required.
Existing network within Ontario's automotive manufacturing corridor is considered a strong asset.
Contractor Relationship
This position is structured as an independent contractor engagement and does not create an employer-employee relationship.
The contractor will operate independently in determining their sales approach, customer development strategy, work schedule, and business development activities, subject to agreed commercial objectives and contractual requirements.
Compensation will be based on an agreed commission or sales incentive structure established within the Independent Sales Contractor Agreement.
The contractor is responsible for maintaining appropriate business registrations, insurance, tax remittances, and other obligations associated with operating as an independent contractor.
