Job Title - IT Infrastructure Manager

Location - Toronto, ON M5E 1G4 (Hybrid)

Job Type - Full-Time

Salalry - $110K to $120K Per Annum

Position Overview:

- We are looking for a hands-on Infrastructure Manager to take ownership of day-to-day IT infrastructure operations, vendor relationships, infrastructure projects, and MSP management.

- This is not purely a people-management role. The ideal candidate is someone who understands infrastructure at a technical level, is comfortable getting hands-on when required, and can also step back and manage projects, vendors, renewals, service levels, procurement, and operational processes.

- The successful candidate will act as an escalation point for infrastructure-related requests while helping ensure that projects actually move forward and that technology decisions follow established standards, security practices, policies, and regulatory requirements.

- The CIO will value someone who understands process, compliance, regulations, consistent approach; someone who thinks about what's the right thing to do, should we be doing it, how are we going to do it, look at existing models.

- Come in as an individual contributor (no ppl management) for now. Plan is to have him/her take on a Team Lead or people manager role for current Infrastructure team.

- Comfortable owning responsibility independently, without step-by-step direction

- Don't want to baby sit the person he should be skilled in this space

Key Responsibilities

- Own and coordinate day-to-day IT infrastructure operations across the organization.

- Manage relationships with infrastructure vendors, technology partners, and the organization's Managed Service Provider (MSP).

- Hold vendors and the MSP accountable for deliverables, timelines, service levels, and project completion.

- Manage vendor renewals, licensing, contracts, service agreements, and technology subscriptions.

- Coordinate infrastructure-related projects from planning through completion, ensuring actions, dependencies, and follow-ups do not stall.

- Manage hardware procurement, lifecycle planning, inventory requirements, and infrastructure capacity needs.

- Review infrastructure and technology requests and determine the appropriate solution rather than simply fulfilling the initial request.

- Challenge requests when necessary and work with business users to understand the underlying business requirement.

- Support the configuration and implementation of new infrastructure platforms and systems at an administrative/high level.

- Manage all levels of infrastructure requests, providing discerning approval

- Act as an escalation point for Tier 2 / Tier 3 infrastructure and technical support issues.

- Work closely with the MSP on technical troubleshooting, system changes, upgrades, and infrastructure projects.

- Maintain consistent infrastructure standards, processes, documentation, and operating procedures.

- Ensure infrastructure activities follow established security, compliance, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.

- Review vendor service levels and ensure the organization has appropriate hardware, software, licensing, and support coverage.

- Help improve infrastructure processes and identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, or automate operational activities.
