Pro-Tech Sales & Service has an immediate opening for an Inside Sales Representative at our Thunder Bay location.

We are looking for someone who is customer-focused, organized, mechanically inclined, and comfortable learning a wide variety of products including pumps, filters, fittings, water treatment equipment, and related parts and accessories.

This is a hands-on inside sales position where customers may come to you with a part number, a component in their hand, a photo, or simply a description of what they are trying to accomplish. The ideal candidate will be comfortable asking the right questions, identifying what the customer needs, researching products, and finding a practical solution.

Previous sales or mechanical experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person who has strong mechanical aptitude, good problem-solving skills, and an interest in learning.

Responsibilities

- Assist walk-in, telephone, and email customers with product inquiries, quotations, orders, and general support
- Prepare quotations, sales orders, purchase orders, and related documentation
- Identify and source pumps, filters, fittings, parts, accessories, and related products from multiple vendors
- Research product specifications, availability, pricing, and suitable alternatives
- Follow up on quotations, special orders, back-orders, and customer requests
- Work with customers to understand their application and recommend appropriate products or solutions
- Coordinate with service technicians, purchasing, warehouse, and other staff to ensure customer requirements are handled accurately and efficiently
- Maintain accurate customer, product, pricing, and supplier information
- Assist with inventory management and maintaining appropriate stock levels




- Develop strong product knowledge and build lasting relationships with new and existing customers
- Help maintain an organized and professional showroom and sales counter

Requirements

- Previous customer service, inside sales, parts, service, retail, or related experience is preferred
- Mechanical aptitude is strongly preferred
- Comfortable learning basic mechanical, plumbing, pump, filtration, and water treatment concepts
- Able to identify and differentiate common fittings, connections, thread types, tubing, hose, fasteners, and related components
- Comfortable working with measurements, specifications, catalogues, product manuals, and online resources
- Able to look at a part, component, or application, ask relevant questions, and work through what is required
- Strong computer skills and comfortable working with email, inventory or ERP systems, vendor websites, and point-of-sale software
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities throughout the day
- Strong problem-solving and research skills
- Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Experience with pumps, plumbing, water treatment, mechanical equipment, parts, maintenance, or related products is considered an asset

What We're Looking For

You do not need to know every product we sell on day one.

We are looking for someone with a valuable mechanical mindset who is comfortable learning technical products and enjoys figuring things out. If a customer walks in with an unfamiliar fitting, pump part, filter, or other component, we want someone whose instinct is to identify it, ask questions, research it, and find the right solution.

Product training and support will be provided.

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
