Force Tubular Solutions a leading oilfield asset and tubular management and services company to the upstream oil and gas industry. Its core business revolves around drill pipe, drill tools, sucker rods, casing and production tubing, coating services, and tubular products for production and completion. Force’s services include in-plant and mobile inspection, repair, machining, and manufacturing.
Reporting to the Sales Manager - Threading & Manufacturing, the Inside Sales Specialist provides inside sales support to the OCTG Threading & Manufacturing Business Unit, managing the full RFQ process, coordinating customer requests, developing detailed quote proposals, and providing timely and accurate commercial support to customers, the sales team, internal operations groups, and external vendors. The role may act as a front-line point of contact for customers when issuing and following up on quotes, clarifications, updates, PO status, and delivery information. The role is not expected to own or directly manage customer accounts, carry individual revenue targets, or require travel.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Review customer RFQs, specifications, drawings, service requirements, and supporting documentation for OCTG related product-service inquiries products (accessories, downhole tools, tubing, casing, couplings).
- Build complete quote proposals by identifying labour cost, materials, subcontracted services, freight, lead times, contingencies, and other quote components.
- Prepare accurate, competitive, and professionally presented quotes in accordance with internal approval requirements.
- Use established price books where available and develop supportable quotes where standard pricing does not exist.
- Research relevant industry information and obtain supplier pricing, availability, technical details, and lead times.
- Coordinate with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Inspection, Finance, and other internal groups as required to confirm scope, capacity, technical requirements, cost inputs, and delivery capabilities.
- Identify missing information, scope gaps, commercial risks, and assumptions before quotations are finalized.
- Act as a responsive front-line contact for customer inquiries, RFQs, quote-related questions, and service requests.
- Summarize customer emails,
requirements, decisions, and follow-up actions for internal stakeholders.
- Manage existing RFQ pipeline and maintain accurate quote status in the quote tracking system.
- Follow up on customer requests and outstanding quotations within required timelines.
- Communicate quote status, required clarifications, service availability, and next steps to customers and sales managers.
- Prioritize urgent requests and escalate time-sensitive matters when required.
- Support sales managers with commercial documentation, customer information, opportunity tracking, and internal coordination.
- Coordinate Purchase Order (PO) reception process to ensure full alignment with quoted terms.
- Assist with the handoff of POs to Operations, including scope, assumptions, pricing, customer requirements, and supporting documentation.
- Contribute to improvements in quoting tools, quotation templates, pricing references, RFQ pipeline tracking, and sales support processes.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures and comply with Force’s Health & Safety program and applicable Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
- Perform other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Minimum five years of inside sales, sales support, estimating, quotation, or commercial coordination experience in the oil and gas services sector.
- Comparable estimating and inside sales experience in mining, industrial services, manufacturing, inspection, or another technical service environment may be considered.
- Experience preparing quotations and estimates involving supplier sourcing, non-standard pricing, and multiple cost components.
- Ability to review technical specifications, drawings, scopes of work, and supplier quotations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex customer requests clearly and accurately.
- Demonstrated urgency, responsiveness,
and sound judgment when handling time-sensitive requests.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, active requests, deadlines, and stakeholders.
- Superior attention to detail, with high standards for estimate accuracy, documentation, and quality of work.
- Strong organizational, follow-up, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with sales, operations, vendors, and other internal functions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, with the ability to learn CRM, ERP, and estimating systems.
- Experience with oilfield inspection, machining, threading, manufacturing, OCTG, NDT, rentals, or related industrial services is preferred.
- Post-secondary education in business, sales, engineering technology, supply chain, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Ability to work full time on site in Nisku, Alberta.
Special Conditions:
- Full-time, on-site position based in Nisku, Alberta.
- No routine travel is required.
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment with regular interaction with shop, operations, and service personnel.
- The role regularly manages urgent customer requests, competing priorities, and deadline-sensitive quotations.
