Internal Marketing Specialist

Hey, we got your attention!

Thanks for checking us out! Here are some fun facts about Konstruct:

- We are a B2B-focused digital marketing agency headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, but we have clients all over North America.
- We specialize in search, paid, and content marketing. And we're damn good at all 3!
- We’re a hybrid work environment, and support your decision to Zoom pantless.
- Unlike many other agencies, we’re serious about having a healthy work-life balance.
- We believe we can’t grow as a company unless we help you grow as a marketer, and we are obsessive about both.
- We take our culture seriously. Nothing is more important to us than creating an environment where people can have fun doing great work.
- We’re looking for people who don't settle for "good enough."

A little about the role… We're hiring a Marketing Specialist to join our team and help build Konstruct’s own marketing engine.

Unlike most roles at an agency, you won't spend your days bouncing between a dozen different clients. Your client is us. You'll get to go deep on Konstruct, our services, our audience, and the digital marketing topics we want to become known for.

For the first several months, this will be a content-heavy role. A lot of your time will be spent researching, writing, editing, and publishing useful, factually accurate content about SEO, paid media, content marketing, AI search, B2B marketing, and the industries our clients operate in.

We're not looking for someone who thinks every article needs to be their creative magnum opus. We're looking for someone who can take a complex subject, learn enough about it to understand what they're talking about, and turn that information into clear, accurate marketing content.

You'll primarily help us create content designed to increase Konstruct's visibility in AI-powered search and answer engines.

But writing is only one part of where we see this role going.

You'll also help turn articles into short-form video scripts, get in front of the camera from time to time, publish educational content across channels like LinkedIn and YouTube, support our website and internal marketing campaigns, and contribute to initiatives that strengthen Konstruct's reputation and authority online.

As our internal marketing function grows, we expect this role to grow with it. There are upcoming brand, website, video, ad campaign, and other marketing projects that will give the right person an opportunity to expand well beyond content production.

In other words:

this is a great role for someone early in their marketing career who wants to get a lot of reps, build serious marketing knowledge, and eventually take on more responsibility across an in-house marketing team.

A little about you…

Your Experience

- You have a diploma or degree in marketing that gave you a strong foundation in marketing fundamentals.
- You're early in your marketing career, but you've had enough exposure to the field that concepts like SEO, paid advertising, content marketing, customer journeys, conversion, and targeting are familiar to you.
- You may have gained that experience through a full-time role, internship, co-op, freelance work, student agency, or other hands-on marketing experience.
- You have seriously strong written and verbal English communication skills and can explain complicated subjects clearly.
- You know how to research something you don't already understand, synthesize information from multiple sources, and make informed decisions about what is and isn't credible.
- You’re comfortable using AI tools to help you research, synthesize information, repurpose content, and work faster, but you also know better than to blindly trust whatever an AI tool spits out.
- Professional writing experience is a bonus, but it isn't everything. We'd rather hire someone with great marketing instincts who can learn to become a stronger writer than a great writer who we have to teach Marketing 101.
- Bonus points if you have experience with SEO or AI-search/GEO content.
- Extra bonus points if you've worked with a CMS, produced social media content, written technical content, created video scripts, or spent time in front of a camera.
- More important than anything: you love to learn. You'll be covering a lot of different marketing subjects, and we need someone who actually enjoys figuring out how things work.

Your Qualities:
- Your highly detail oreinted and cringe whenver you see grammer issues, or typos. (See what we did there? ;) ). We’re looking for someone who cares about the details and doesn't let obviously incorrect information slide because it "sounds good enough."
- You have relentless curiosity. If you don't understand something, your instinct is to figure it out.
- You're a fast learner who actually absorbs feedback.

If someone explains something to you once, you make an effort not to make them explain the exact same thing again next week.
- You're comfortable with high-volume production.
- You're good at piecing information together. Give you several sources, an unfamiliar subject, and a goal, and you can turn them into something coherent.
- You're comfortable working independently. We'll invest heavily in getting you up to speed, but the goal is for you to eventually own your work without someone looking over your shoulder every step of the way.
- You can confidently get in front of a camera when needed. You don't need to be the next big YouTube personality. You just need to be able to explain something clearly and naturally.
- You're interested in marketing as a discipline, not just writing. You want to understand why we're producing something, who it's for, and how it contributes to a bigger strategy.
- You're fiercely competitive and never settle for "good enough."
- You want to do great work and be on a team that enables just that.

Job Perks:
- Competitive compensation
- Hybrid work environment
- Free parking
- Vacation and paid time off
- Extended health care
- Office games (prepare to get your foos on!)
- Full kitchen stocked full of snacks
- Pizza Thursdays
- Hands-on training across SEO, paid media, content marketing, AI search, B2B marketing, and more
- The chance to help build Konstruct's internal marketing function and grow into broader responsibilities as the team evolves
- Be part of a fast-growing team that is in it to win it!

Please include a cover letter with your application, including the following information:
- Links to any writing, content, marketing, school, or personal projects you think show us what you're capable of. Don't have a traditional marketing portfolio yet? That's okay.
- Tell us about a marketing concept, campaign, company, or trend you've learned something interesting from recently. What caught your attention about it?

Shortlisted candidates will also be asked to complete a brief writing and marketing exercise. We're less interested in whether you've memorized a bunch of terminology than we are in how you research, think, learn, and communicate. We love digital marketing so much that we cannot stop talking about it! Check us out on
