We are seeking an early-in-career STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH who wants to develop their professional skills and career with an uncompromising, community-first fitness enterprise.
Candidate Profile
Candidates for this STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH position will be certified as a group fitness instructor or personal training through a reputable, recognized institution and / or have experience leading group fitness classes or comparable experience (e.g. life guard/ swimming instructor, dance teacher, camp counselor etc.)
Candidates will have an intrinsic passion for health and fitness as well as an education (completed or in-progress) in a health and fitness discipline.
Candidates can demonstrate and explain exercise movements correctly exercise as well as good "bench side manner" (respect and empathy for members.)
The ideal candidate should also be able to demonstrate critical thinking within the domain of sport and exercise for the purpose of delivering safe and effective programming for people across a broad range of ages, health conditions, fitness levels and goals.
All workouts and music are programmed ahead of time by WHAT'S GOOD CANADA INC. so our Coaches can focus on creating a great experience and modifiers as necessary rather than thinking of exercises, timing, music choices, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Senior Coaches in leading high-quality group training classes for members which involves, but is not limited to the following:
- i. Explaining the structure and science behind the "Workout of the Day" (programming)
- ii.
Demonstrating the individual exercises and offering important cues
- iii. Leading a "synchronized" warm-up (participants doing same thing at the same time)
- Iv. Identifying opportunities to personalize (individualize) the member experience
- v. Encouraging participants to perform a cool-down after class before departing
- Create one (1) piece of engaging community-first content for Instagram per shift
- Educate current and potential members on studio schedule, memberships and current promotions.
- Collaborate with Management on monthly promotional initiatives including Special Events
- Tend to class participants to ensure exercises are performed safely and effectively and appropriate resistance is being used
- Create a clean, organized, welcoming, energetic and fun atmosphere including actively facilitating member connections
- Ensure that the studio is correctly and completely set up for the next class or next day's work out as required

Experience:
