Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation by chopping, assembling, and portioning ingredients to support chefs and cooks.

Help with cooking tasks under supervision, ensuring meals are prepared efficiently and accurately.

Support food handling procedures to maintain hygiene standards and food safety regulations.

Contribute to food service by setting up serving stations, replenishing supplies, and ensuring timely delivery of meals.

Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing utensils and ingredients.

Follow all safety protocols related to food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.





Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy periods.

Requirements

- Valid food handler certificate is required
- Knowledge in west Indian cuisine is an asset
- Previous experience in food service or kitchen environments is preferred but not mandatory
- Basic understanding of food safety standards and proper handling techniques.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting ingredients or equipment.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detail in all tasks performed.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting others in a fast-paced setting.
- Familiarity with serving procedures, meal preparation, and general food industry practices is advantageous.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a safe and hygienic work environment.
