Smart N Save Café is hiring a Kitchen Staff / Line Cook to join our team in Vancouver.

You will assist with preparing and cooking menu items, daily food preparation, meal assembly, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen. Smart N Save Café is a fast-paced Hong Kong-style café serving a variety of noodles, dumplings, steamed items, snacks, drinks, and other café favourites.

We are looking for someone who works efficiently, follows instructions carefully, stays organized, and works well as part of a team. Previous skilled kitchen or restaurant experience is preferred but not required. Training on our recipes, procedures, portion standards, and equipment will be provided.

Applicants must be able to communicate in both Cantonese and English.

Schedule and Availability

Applicants should have flexible availability.

Shifts may include

- Morning shifts
- Afternoon shifts
- Evening shifts
- Weekdays
- Weekends
- Statutory holidays

Applicants must be able to work scheduled shifts based on the operational needs of the café.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook menu items according to Smart N Save Café recipes and portion standards
- Assist with daily food preparation, including chopping, portioning, reheating, steaming, boiling, and assembling food
- Prepare Hong Kong-style and Asian café dishes, noodles, dumplings, steamed items, snacks, and other menu items
- Set up and organize your workstation before service
- Maintain consistent food quality, portion size, and presentation
- Follow proper food handling, storage, rotation, and expiry-date procedures
- Restock ingredients and kitchen supplies as required
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Follow all food safety,



sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedures
- Communicate ingredient shortages, equipment issues, and order delays to the team
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries when required
- Support front-of-house staff during busy service periods when necessary
- Complete other kitchen duties as assigned

Requirements
- Must be able to communicate in both Cantonese and English
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Ability to follow recipes, procedures, portion standards, and verbal instructions
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to stay organized while handling multiple orders and tasks
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to maintain consistent food quality during busy service periods
- Ability to safely lift and move kitchen supplies when required

Previous experience in a restaurant, café, commercial kitchen, or food preparation environment is considered an asset. Experience preparing Hong Kong-style or Asian food is also considered an asset.

A valid FOODSAFE certificate is considered an asset.
