Become a key player at the University of Waterloo as a Lab Assistant. Support microbiology operations while preparing materials for undergraduate courses in a full time, permanent role. In this role, you’ll assist Lab Technicians to ensure the proper functioning of Microbiology Preparation Rooms.

Your tasks will include decontaminating lab waste, washing glassware, and replenishing supplies, essential for smooth lab sessions. Strong organizational and communication skills will be pivotal in managing various priorities efficiently. Key Responsibilities:

- Decontaminate and sterilize all lab waste materials
- Wash and prepare laboratory glassware rapidly
- Maintain equipment and chemical inventory accurately
- Prepare microbiology materials and assist with lab cleanup
- Operate autoclave, centrifuge, and other lab equipment safely Requirements:
- BSc or College Diploma in Biology required
- Minimum two years' experience in a related field
- Intermediate knowledge of microbiology techniques
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
