Interested in creating complex, stylized architectural and organic environments for an all-current experience belonging to a popular video game franchise? Join our environment team as its most senior hands-on artist and lead by example, mentoring Senior and Intermediate artists, and setting the bar for what the team builds.
Why Choose Reflector:
Make your mark on an iconic IP. The game we’re developing belongs to a cherished Bandai Namco IP with a fanbase in the millions! You’re responsible for shaping environments and setting the standards to make sure they never disappoint.
Push your craft even further. Take on the project’s most ambitious architectural and organic environments, from ideation to final polish, while defining the standards and pipelines the entire environment team will rely on.
Enjoy more than just meetings. We’re all for hybrid setups, but endless Teams calls aren’t our thing. We like to kick off milestones, collaborate, fast-track ideas, share progress (snacks, too!), and celebrate achievements live and in-person.
Feel supported on all fronts. Not only can you count on your team to help you solve the most creative of challenges, but we’ve also got you covered with generous health and dental coverage and ample time off starting from day one.
How You’ll Spend Your Days:
- Creating and overseeing the production of complex architectural and organic environments that deliver exemplary visual storytelling at project scale.
- Defining and evolving the environment discipline’s standards, pipelines, and best practices; driving their adoption across the team.
- Coaching and mentoring senior and intermediate artists, sharing your expertise to raise the whole team’s skill level.
- Acting as the go-to technical and artistic reference to solve the toughest frame rate, memory, and design-spec challenges when the usual fixes fall short.
- Collaborating closely with design, tech, and the art director to ensure the game’s visual style remains consistent and top tier.
What You Offer:
- A solid understanding of the French language.
- You must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience as an Environment Artist on AA or AAA games, having had substantial experience mentoring others or as a technical lead.
- You’ve shipped at least two games as an Environment Artist, ideally on AAA console titles, from ideation through delivery.
- A bachelor’s degree or college diploma in graphic design, art, or equivalent training or experience.
- Exceptional command of form, structure, and silhouette, with a proven ability to set and enforce quality standards for the discipline.
