Position: Line Cook

Location: Bowen Island, BC (Steps from the Snug Cove Ferry Terminal)

Pay Rate: $19.00 – $24.00 / hour (based on experience) + Generous Tip Pool

Shift: Morning/Day Shift (Shift starts between 7:30 AM – 8:00 AM, finishes 3:30 PM – 4:00 PM)

About The Snug Cafe For decades, The Snug Cafe has been the heart of Bowen Island—a cozy, fast-paced hub where locals grab their early morning coffee and visitors fuel up for island adventures. Located right off the ferry dock, we take pride in serving high-quality breakfast burritos, custom Benny bowls, gourmet sandwiches, and fresh baked goods in a warm, welcoming environment.

The Role

We are looking for an energetic, effective Line Cook to join our tight-knit kitchen team. Our kitchen is compact and fast-paced, so you need to be quick on your feet, comfortable working in tight quarters, and capable of holding down your station whether you are working alongside a teammate or stepping up independently.

Key Responsibilities

- Execute breakfast and lunch menu items quickly and accurately to specification (grill, assembly, prep).
- Arrive 30 minutes prior to opening for station setup/prep, and stay 30 minutes post-shift for breakdown and sanitation.




- Manage high-volume order flow during peak morning and lunch rushes smoothly.
- Maintain clean, organized prep and cooking areas, following strict food safety guidelines.
- Operate self-sufficiently during quiet periods and seamlessly collaborate during busy hours.

What We’re Looking For

- Experience: 1+ years of line/prep cook experience in a fast-casual or breakfast-heavy kitchen environment.
- Speed & Focus: Thrives in a small, tight, high-volume kitchen footprint.
- Autonomy & Teamwork: Ability to self-manage during solo prep windows and communicate clearly when working line shifts with others.
- Reliability: Punctual and reliable—especially if taking the morning ferry!
- Certification: FoodSafe Level 1 required.
