Prince George, BC V2N4P7 CA Salary Range $106,185.97 - $135,238.32 annually ($58.14 - $74.05 hourly) Close Date 9/22/2026 Job Type Regular Full Time Temporary End Date Ministry/Organization BC Public Service -> Children & Family Development Ministry Branch / Division Youth Forensic Psychiatric Unit The Team Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services (YFPS) provides court-ordered mental health assessments and treatment for young people under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and other laws. This includes youth found unfit to stand trial or not criminally responsible due to a mental disorder. Services are offered through outpatient clinics and contracted providers across British Columbia.

The Role The Licensed

Psychologist conducts assessments to inform the Court about the youth for the purpose of sentencing or to make treatment recommendations for sentenced youths. The psychologist also provides treatment for a variety of psychological concerns that may have contributed to the youth’s involvement in the justice system. This role is well suited for an individual who is looking to develop their skills and experience in youth forensic psychological assessment and treatment.

It offers an opportunity to apply and build on years of academic coursework, clinical training, and field experience within the province’s only integrated youth forensic inpatient, outpatient, and custody centre.

Qualifications: Education and Experience Requirements - Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC).

- Applicants with a Ph. D. and eligible for registration with the College of CHCPBC may be considered for appointment at a lower classification. NB: As a condition of continued employment, such an appointee is required to become registered as a Licensed Psychologist.
- NOTE: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Three years experience / training in Clinical Adolescent Psychology preferred.

About this Position: There is currently one (1) full time position in Burnaby, and one (1) part time (0.6) position in Prince George. Flexible work options are available for the full time position; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement. An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent full time or part time vacancies.
