New Westminster Surgical

Centre is seeking an LPN to provide high-quality nursing care to patients throughout their surgical journey, from pre-admission assessment to post-operative recovery and discharge. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, efficient, and patient-centred care. Conduct pre-admission assessments, including health history reviews, medication reconciliation, and patient screening.

Coordinate required diagnostic testing and communicate significant findings to physicians. Admit and prepare patients for surgery, ensuring all preoperative requirements are completed. Monitor, assess, and provide nursing care to patients in the post-operative recovery phase.

Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards. Provide discharge education to patients and families, including medications, wound care, and follow-up instructions. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in care planning.





Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. Promote a safe clinical environment and participate in quality improvement and professional development initiatives. Current registration as an LPN in positive standing with the applicable regulatory body.

ACLS is an asset. Minimum one year of recent acute care nursing experience. Previous experience in Pre-Admission, Day Surgery, PACU, or Post-Operative nursing is preferred. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative surgical environment while delivering exceptional patient-centred care.
