Worker Type: Permanent Position Finning Canada is seeking a Journeyperson Electrician/HET to join our Power & Energy service team, supporting Caterpillar (CAT) generator systems across a variety of customer sites and industries. This role is primarily responsible for the installation, commissioning, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting/repairs of CAT generator sets, battery energy storage systems, electrical distribution/control systems, and compressed air products. The successful candidate will demonstrate solid technical capability, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently in a field based environment while representing Finning and Caterpillar to the highest standard.
Shift and Location Shift: 7x7 continuous shift (Wednesday - Tuesday) Logistics: This is a mobile position, this job will be ‘on the road’ for the entire shift (accommodations/per diem provided) 2.25 Field Premium, $3.50 Shift Premium ~ 7x7 Continuous shift ~ Per Diem and Travel payments, accommodations provided ~ Paid Time Off in Year 1: Vacation, Sick & Flex Time ~ Pension; Employer paid medical benefits ~ CAT certified training: Perform electrical work on: Generator controls (EMCP/ECS platforms) Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) Switchgear and distribution equipment Paralleling and load‑sharing systems Control Systems Read and interpret Electrical schematics and wiring diagrams and single line diagrams Functional testing and verification Load bank testing Perform mechanical work on: Journeyperson Electrician Certification (Red Seal preferred) Apprentices will be considered) or, Willing to pursue apprenticeship Electrical Safety Training – Arc Flash and Shock (CSAZ462)
FSRA or FSRB credential would be considered an asset Generator installation and commissioning Natural Gas & Diesel Engine systems ATS and emergency power systems Electrical troubleshooting in industrial environments Power Generation experience would be considered an asset Generator Rebuild experience would be considered an asset Heavy Duty Mechanical experience or certification would be considered an asset Team player capable of working with minimal supervision, in challenging conditions Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail Valid class 5 driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay.
