Our premises are within the Purdy's Wharf complex which provides amenities such as an on-site daycare and fitness centre. Our office is connected to the downtown pedway system and situated on Halifax's beautiful waterfront providing easy access to ferry and bus transit hubs, banks, restaurants, and shopping.

The prospect

Position Summary:

Overseeing the daily operations of the Internal Services team, you will ensure high-quality support services are provided to our plan members and internally across NS Pension.

In this position, you will report directly to the Chief Pension Officer (CPO) and will be responsible for the implementation of the records management (RM) program for the Pensions division, in partnership with the Manager, Corporate Records. This includes managing high-volume document handling, imaging processes, physical records disposition and retention schedules. As well, you will oversee the provision of reception service for the corporation, ensuring a smooth, professional, and efficient first point of contact for our organisation.

You will collaborate closely with other Pension division managers to foster seamless cooperation between the Internal Services team, Client Services, and Employer Services, ensuring a unified approach to member service excellence. In addition, you will partner with Financial Services to manage invoices and vendor payments, and with Internal Audit and Compliance to address process compliance and audit findings.

What you need to be successful

- A bachelor’s degree in commerce, business administration, or a related field with a concentration in information or records management, plus a minimum of five years’ experience in customer service, ideally within a records, pensions, benefits,



insurance environment, or other related field. An acceptable equivalent combination of training, education and related experience may be considered.
- A minimum of two years’ supervisory experience with demonstrated skills in creating a positive team environment, on-boarding, coaching, managing performance, delegating work and training.
- Strong service orientation with a proven track record of exceeding expectations for internal and external customers.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a quick-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship skills to work collaboratively at all levels across the organization.
- Well-developed communication skills, written and verbal.
- Experience in developing and leading continuous quality improvement initiatives.
