With us, you can expect a dynamic working environment full of opportunities for personal and professional development. PALFINGER is searching for a Marine Service Technician to support our customers in throughout Newfoundland . This position reports to the Service Manager.
Conduct comprehensive services, participates in testing, commissioning, annual & 5-year inspections on lifeboats and davit/winch systems globally. Complete thorough service reports to ensure all activities are documented and communicated effectively. Diagnose, adjust, repair or overhaul Palfinger cranes and/ or Life Saving Equipment (LSE) ensuring they operate at peak performance.
Utilize electronic, hydraulic and mechanical theory along with related knowledge to test and modify operational electrical machinery. Apply electronic control equipment and circuitry,
hydraulic circuits and components and mechanical equipment to maintain and enhance system functionality. Solid technical background with proven experience in hydraulic construction. ~3-5 years of marine/offshore experience with the ability to adapt to the unique challenges of this type of environment. ~ Possess sound theoretical knowledge of cranes, hydraulics and electrical knowledge in the marine/fishing industry environment. ~ Ability to travel for multiple days at a time to assigned offshore locations. ~ Must be eligible to obtain and maintain Canadian government security clearance required for work on government vessels; eligibility requirements may include Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status and a minimum of 5 yearsof Canadian residency.
