MATCHA MATCHA is an innovative, lifestyle-forward café specializing in matcha products, curated and shipped from local farms in Japan. Our matcha is designed to be inviting to matcha enthusiasts and beginners; from thoughtfully crafted drinks to a welcoming stop in the morning. We are hiring experienced baristas for MATCHA MATCHA Markham location. As our headquarters and primary training location, Markham plays an important role in maintaining and demonstrating company standards. We hold high standards for store operations, cleanliness, product quality, teamwork, and overall customer experience.

We are looking for someone who is:

Responsibilities and Duties

- Craft beverages, prepare ingredients, and package food according to company recipes and product standards




- Greet customers, answer questions, make recommendations, and provide friendly and attentive service
- Operate the POS system and support order-taking and handoff as needed
- Multitask between beverage preparation, customer service, cleaning, restocking, and other floor responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards across customer-facing, service, and open-kitchen areas
- Complete routine cleaning and scheduled equipment maintenance
- Replenish inventory and supplies from the warehouse as needed
- Safely handle, lift, organize, and store products in warehouse and stockroom areas
- Coordinate with other departments, including our prep and e-commerce teams, as part of daily operations
- Follow company recipes, operating procedures, checklists, and quality standards consistently
- Follow WHMIS, Public Health, food safety, and workplace safety procedures
- Stay aware of floor needs and support team members during busy periods
- Communicate stock shortages, operational issues, and other concerns to the Supervisor or Manager
- Support other duties required for daily store operations

Requirements





- 2+ years of Food & Beverage and/or retail experience preferred
- Food Handler Certificate
- WHMIS Certificate preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Strong basic math skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow established procedures consistently
- Comfortable receiving feedback and learning new procedures
- Comfortable working in an open-bar and open-kitchen environment where cleanliness, organization, and professionalism are highly visible
- Able to work independently on assigned responsibilities while contributing to the team
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 25 kg
- Able to safely handle and restock warehouse inventory
- Able to attend paid training and onboarding sessions before commencing employment

Availability & Scheduling We are looking for candidates with reliable and flexible availability, with preference given to candidates who can work across multiple dayparts and are available on weekends and/or statutory holidays.

- Full-time positions: 30+ hours per week
- Part-time positions: 12+ hours per week
- Opening shifts may begin as early as 8:00 AM
- Closing shifts may end as late as 10:00 PM
- Shifts typically range from 4–10 hours
- Availability across mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and/or statutory holidays is preferred

Pay: From $17.60 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 – 30.0 per week
